 Imagine a room with 50s decor where everything's made from wool. Knitted cakes, teapots, cups and biscuits - even a knife and loaf of crusty white bread - while over in the corner sits a knitted valve mantel radio.

This is really amazing.  An entire room made out of knitting!

The new Crochet Me is out! 

I am loving the book thong, how cute is baby baby, and I really like the vine lasso, although I don't think I'd wear it.

Now all we need is the new Knitty to come out!

Anyways, so, Manda and I are doing this crochet-a-long, and it is so much fun!

So, I started before her, and I altered the pattern a little...  because, as usual, I can NOT leave ANYTHING alone!  I added to rows to the crown because I felt like my gage was off (what, me measure???), and I didn't want it to be really form fitting either.  Leave a bit of room for hair and stuff.

I also screwed up the pattern repeat, just a dorky didn't read the pattern properly thing.  It calls for you to crochet into the front loop then the back loop for the entire body of the hat.  I messed up for a bit and did a row of straight doubles in between for a couple of rows.  It still looks good though.  Right now I'm in the process of putting a beaded row of single crochet on the bottom.  Not too happy with that, it's tedious, the way that I'm doing it...  bleh.  And, I think it would look better with bigger beads.  But, I will persevere!  And finish the beading!  I also want to put some beads into the flower.  I think just around the middle.  We'll have to see how that goes!!

Wahoo!  The hat itself is finished!  I beaded the bottom edge, and it actually looks quite cute...  It kind of flares out a bit, which is nice. 

I have to admit, I kind of like it without the flower...  I'm still going to make a flower, but I don't think I'm going to actually sew it on.  I think I'll sew it on a diaper pin and then I can put it on and off as my mood so dictates...  so every half hour or so.

Manda, this was a great idea!  How goes yours?

Finished the flower, but ripped out the second half of it...  it didn't seem to do the layer thing like it does in the picture.  Still not sure if I'm going to use it or not!

So, Manda and I are going to do a crochet-a-long of this hat.  Isn't it cute? 

I picked some soft grey wool with a touch of angora that I stole from my Gramma's stash a couple of weeks ago.  Not sure what I'm going to do with the flower yet...  have to see on that one.

I'm also already kind of thinking about altering the pattern so that the crown of the hat is a flower...  hmmm...  I wonder if I packed my crochet motif book yet???
