and self centred.

I was out at the mall yesterday, just kind of an in and out trip with both kids, so I didn't bother with the stroller, and there were no available carts to use. All fine, Keyzia stays close to me, and Ephraim actually does quite well with holding my hand.
So, our trip was accomplished fairly successfully, and we were leaving. I had my bag in one hand, and I was holding onto each of the kids hands as well... which, as I'm sure most of you mothers know, makes it difficult to open those swinging doors.
An older woman came in the first set of doors, coming in as I was going out, stood there and waited for me to open the door for her!!! She was completely capable of opening the door herself, in fact I had just seen her do it, with no trouble at all since she was holding NOTHING in her hands.
Thankfully, there was an older man after that that held open the next door for me, and who shook his head at the other lady. At least I wasn't the only one who noticed!
Can you imagine how different the world would be if everyone was courteous? If we all put ourselves out just a little bit for the strangers that we live side by side with??
I am so sick of the rudeness in our society. I'm so tired of the lack of responsibility. Why admit to your mistakes and learn from them when you can blame someone else!

I challenge you to do something nice for someone today. Hold open a door. Help someone with their packages. Smile at a stranger on the street. It takes no time at all but it can make a world of difference.
