so, for some strange reason, i haven't seemed to have a lot of time to post any articles lately... i either have a baby attached to my boob, or a toddler attached to my leg!! but, for those of you who aren't too squeamish, here are some details of baby ephraim's arrival.
on saturday, august 23rd, sometime in the afternoon, i told my hubby that my water was leaking... which, i must say, is a very odd feeling... like you're peeing your pants but not really. anyways, he called the hospital to see if we should come in, even though i hadn't actually had any contractions yet, and they said we should... mostly because of the group b strep. we called jen, said it looked like they were keeping us, and she zoomed over... the dr. finally showed up and they decided to start the oxytocin to get the contractions going. brutal. that's all i have to say about that. just brutal. spent some time in the shower, had a brief scare when they didn't think that i could have an epidural (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!), got the epidural (wooohoooo!), they cranked the oxytocin, and i had him at 9:15 p.m. it was very odd, actually, i only pushed for about five minutes... didn't even break a sweat!! and there he was... all gross and slimy and lieing on my tummy. after ja cut the cord, he had to be put in the oxygen for about five mintues until he pinked up, but then he was declared a healthy baby boy. no episiotomy, although i did tear along the old line and need to be stitched up... but other than that it all looked great! the epidural even worked great the first time and i got to have a little doze while they waited for the rest of the dilation to reach 10 centimetres. so, there's a brief update for all of you who did or did not want to know! baby and i are both healthy... every time ephraim makes a noise keyzia says "baby".... but i think she's coming around. i just thank God for all the wonderful blessings he's given me!

thanks to bev who has been praying and visiting, and doing all those great supportive things, for these words of encouragement...
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (I Cor. 3:3-4) Saturday, August 30

thanks al for this super link Keep Canada Warm. keeping the homeless warm is such a great cause.... and really, for all you knitters and crocheters out there, these projects can help use up any leftover bits and pieces of wool you may have kicking around...

Our son and Keyzia's little brother, Ephraim Andrew, was born on August 23rd, 2003. He weighed in at 8 pounds 12 ounces, and was 50 centimetres long. Not as much hair as his sister, but he is very much a strawberry blonde!

well, you guessed it. i'm still here, the baby seems to be permanently ensconsed in my uterus, and i'm starting to think that i'm going to give birth to a baby that is college age. sigh.
